Subject: Hicks/Roach of Luxulyan

Looking for information on Joseph HICKS and his wife Ann Roach HICKS, Henry
HICKS and his wife Maria Daddow HICKS, and their sister Jenifer Hicks ROACH
and husband James ROACH. Joseph and his sister Jenifer emigrated with their
families in 1841. And Henry with his family in 1837 (approx). My HICKS line
came from Luxulyan and can take them back to about 1575.
Don't know a lot about those that emigrated though. Joseph is
3xgreatgrandfather. Know there seems to be a lot of Luxulyan families in the
Whitby area. Seems like the HICKS are married into most of them. HARPER,
MARK(S), HARVEY, PASCOE are just a few. Am interested primarily in HICKS but
anything that may help understand why there seemed to be such an exodus from
Luxulyan to Whitby.
