Hi Stuart;

Afraid I don't, but it would appear that your relative had a Land Grant and
this should be obtainable at the Land Registry Office. So far as I can
see, Emily Twp., is or was in Victoria County and the address for it is:

Victoria Land Registry Office
Provincial Court Buildings
Box 4000
440 Kent Street, West
Lindsay, Ontario
K9V 4S5

I do know that the Land Registry Offices were trying to get rid of old
documents and some are now in the possession of local libraries, or
anyone that would take them. I am not quite sure what the procedure is,
but maybe there is someone else who could advise you on this procedure.

You would need to provide the Lot and Concession Numbers and the
name and approximate dates. If you are lucky, there may be a Will on
title.

I did find the following in the 1871 Ontario Census, which maybe you
have already:

I see no mention of Emily Township, did it go by another name?

Steward POGUE, 26, of Ops, married Feb 23, 1858 to Eliza ASLINORE of
Cavan, born in Ireland (no parents names given for either party)
