Perhaps this is not the right time of year to be asking questions, but here
goes!

A number of you on this list know that I organizing a 'Witheridge Reunion'
on the week-end of June 22, 2001. The Reunion will be held at the old
Bible Christian Chapel in Darlington Twp., now known as Ebenezer United
Church.

We have had an invitation from the Foley family, who purchased the
Witheridge Farm on the corner of Base Line and Holt Road in Darlington
Twp., in 1905. They will be welcoming our party to look around the
property, which has no doubt changed considerably since our family
owned it.

On the corner of the farm, School Number 3 was located, and I have all
the deeds showing where George Witheridge sold off small parcels of his
land to the School Board. I am more than anxious to obtain a picture of
this school! Does anyone have any ideas as to where I can obtain such a
beast? I do have one picture which was taken just prior to the school
closing its doors, but it only shows a very small part with some of the
teachers standing in front. It would appear that after the school closed, it
was used as some kind of drop-in centre, which I understand moved into
Bowmanville when the school building was demolished.

I would be pleased to hear from anyone who could point me in the right
direction. As always, any information would be very much appreciated.

Kind regards
Kathy Witheridge
