Hi
I have recently received information that my Great Great Grandmother might
have been an OSTRANDER. Only her first names were recorded and they were
Mariah Jane. She was born Jan 20 1814, not sure where. She died in Ontario,
possibly Scugog Dec 30 1857. She married Samuel MOORE (also recorded as Moor
& More) abt 1835 possibly in Whitby. Samuel was born late November or early
December 1797 in Vermont. He was possibly a Loyalist. We think he was
married before in Whitby to an Abigail. Anyway Samuel MOORE and Mariah Jane
(Ostrander??) had 12 children. Some were born in Whitby and some in Scugog
They were

3. Lovena M. MOORE b Jan 28 1840
4. Thomas MOORE b Jan 15 1841
5. Mary Ann MOORE b Dec 24 1843 Scugog (My Great Grandmother, married
Joseph
Drulette May 16 1860 in Scugog.)
6. Stephen N MOORE b Mar 7 1845
7. Riley C MOORE b Jan 18 1847
8. Lyman A MOORE b June 24 1849
9. Charity MOORE b Sept 21 1851 ( Married Louis Gerauld Feb 14 1868 at Port
Perry)
10. Charlotte MOORE b Aug 7 1852
11. Alexander MOORE b Nov 4 1854
12. George b Aug 10 1856

Also my Great Great Grandparents Lewis DRULETTE (Drolet and various
spellings) b 1786 or 87 birthplace unknown. married Nancy HENDERSON.
Birthplace and date unknown. They had the following children.

Joseph DRULETTE b Mar 14 1830 Whitby
Harriet DRULETTE b abt 1832 (married April 9 1890 William NICHOLSON at Grey
Twp)
Louisa DRULETTE b ?? (married Jan 23 1844 Daniel BRISBOURNE at Darlington)
Sarah DRULETTE b ???
Possibly more children

I am told that both Samuel MOORE and Lewis DRULETTE were on the 1822 Whitby
census

Does anyone have knowledge of this family?
