Hello, List,

I thought this might be a good time to jump in and make some introductions.

First, my name is John.
I go by John W. O'Neal, II because there are so MANY John O'Neal's on the
world wide web. To the best of my knowledge I'm the only John W, II. :-)

I'm the List Administrator or mediator, or whatever. When I signed on as admin, the nice folks
at Rootsweb suggested a series of rules that I should publish to list members, but allowed me
the flexibility to use those I liked and throw out those I don't.
Never caring much for rules myself, I've decided to keep them simple, as follows.

1) No Porn or Adult content will be permitted on the list.
2) TREAT EACH OTHER WITH RESPECT. Disagreements will crop up from time to time.
Our goal is to share information. Flaming others who disagree with us harms the list and our goal.
(I'll deal with Flamers/Spammers directly and swiftly!)

That's it. If we all follow these two simple rules, we can share and learn a lot from each other.

Secondly, I'd like to introduce cousins Bev Crowe from Illinois and Kenneth O'Neal from Pa.
Their research skills, energy and ambition provided the impetus to start the O'Neal Genealogy
Association in September, 2001.
Our goal was to provide a forum where O'Neal researchers could gather and share their information
with members of our O'Neal and associated families. Our web site is at <http://www.onealwebsite.com>;

This mail list is a logical extension of The O'Neal Genealogy Association and our goals.
We encourage everybody to post their information on the list, to share any new information
they receive and we also encourage list members to ask questions of the list.

We have access to about a dozen O'Neal researchers. Most are in the Jo O'Neal line, but as we
grow we are hoping to bring additional O'Neal's from other lines on board.

So, with that said, this is YOUR list. Feel free to use it as often as you wish.
