I don't know in your case, but this is often true. You probably know that
the Four Courts, which housed genealogical records in Dublin, was blown up
during the Irish Civil War (in fact, you see the beginning of that event
near the end of the movie, "Michael Collins"). I've read that scraps of
papers were falling out of the sky Sad.
