Hi Bev,

If I were to guess at Lorenzo D. Hallock's middle name I bet it would be
Dow, named after an eccentric, itinerant preacher, Lorenzo Dow (October 16,
1777 -February 2, 1834) who traveled the world spreading the gospel.
Thousands of male children were named after him in the early to mid 19th
century. My great grandfather, born in 1837 in Farmersville, Yonge
Township, Leeds, was Lorenzo Dow Parish. I wondered how he got that middle
name and, in a search, found out about Lorenzo Dow. Lorenzo Dow apparently
traveled through the Leeds and Grenville area and my grandfather became one
of the thousands! A search on Google provides loads of information on
Lorenzo Dow.

Regards,

Tom

Am seeking information on Lorenzo (list as Larengo D. Hallic in 1839
Elizabethtown census), Hallock. He was the son of Rev. William A. and
Catherine (DeGroat) Hallock, born in 1810. I believe he passed away in 1843
or thereabout. Would like information on passing, what middle might have
been, etc. Only he and Catherine are listed in 1839 and 1840 census. He is
the mystery person in my Hallock lineage. Nothing is ever mentioned about
him. Would appreciate some input. Thank you Bev - MI
