Thanks. I did a little digging around in material I had (notes from the
History of Pittsford, Vt.; a News & Views article on the Sheldons written
by Elizabeth Stuart, March 1993 issue; the Harvey Sheldon will) and on
the web (mostly World Trees), and have generally pieced together a
picture that might be close to the truth:

My gg grandmother was Patience Sheldon, d/o Horace Sheldon and Minera
Washburn, who married John McGuire at N Crosby in 1851. Horace was the
son of Jeremiah Sheldon and Experience Fuller. Jeremiah was the son of
Gideon Sheldon. Jeremiah had a brother named Samuel Sheldon, who had a
son, Harvey Sheldon, born c.1795, Pittsford, died 1844, Bastard. Harvey
had a daughter name Sarah born c. 1824, who married Birellus/Berillus
Woods in 1844. If correct, our gg grandmothers were something like second
cousins. (Harvey also had a daughter named Patience - I'm trying to
remember who she married, maybe a Halladay?)

One World Tree page has Harvey married to Mariam Stevens, d/o Uriah
Stevens from VT, and Nancy Kevil from KY.

Have you ever been in touch with any of the Sheldon descendants still
living in the area? I've been intending to write to Kris Sheldon who
lives in the house that Horace built, just off of Big Rideau Lake Road,
but haven't so far. I have some photos of the house someone sent me last
summer.
