Hi.....

My G. G. Grandmother was Rhoda Ann (Taplin) - b. c1833 & married July, 1851, Vermont to Silas Hill

In the 1851 Census, Elizabethtown Twp., Leeds Co., ON (as follows)

Augustus Taplin - (age 30), b. Canada; farmer
Jane (Arnold) - (age 26), b. Canada
Charles R. - (age 3)
Rufus - (age 24)
Malinda - (age 52); widow
Ann - (age 19) [Note:would be b. c1832 - could this be my Rhoda Ann (Taplin) who m. 1851 Silas Hill!!]
Amanda - (age 16)

I was wondering if anyone had any info on this Ann - age 19) listed in the above census such as did she marry someone other than Silas Hill or perhaps died unmarried etc. to help me figure out if this might be my Rhoda Ann.

Rhoda Ann (Taplin) sometimes went by the name of Rhoda & other times whent by the name of Ann & sometimes it was written Rhoda A.

She married Silas Hill, July, 1851 in Vermont. If the 1851 Census was written before that it still could be the same person. Rhoda m. Silas Hill whose parents & himself were listed in the 1850 Census Vermont, living beside the family of Augustus Taplin whose wife was Chloe.

As far as I can piece things together, Augustus who m. Chloe was the son of Johnson Taplin in Quebec & Johnson & Henry Taplin were brothers. (Note: Henry Taplin was the husb. of the widow Malinda in the 1851 Census above (her name was Malinda (Huntley). Ann - age 19 in the census above would be their dau. & so she would be the 1st cousin to Augustus Taplin in the 1850 Census Vermont.

Any help & info about Ann - age 19 above would be greatly appreciated.
