Hi Carrie,
I research thr Godfrey's fron SC and have quite a bit of information on them
but nothing on Charlotte. I follow two groups and haven' t been able to
connect them. My line is from the old 96 Dist. Ansel Godfrey line. I expect
yours is the Col. John Godfrey line. He was one of the founders of
Charleston and has ancestors in Branchville, Orangeburg, Florence and of
course Charleston. Amelia Godfrey Aiken, of Charleston, or Margo Godfrey
McMicken, of St. George, may be able to help you. You may also find some
help on the Godfrey roots web list. My site
www.logicsouth.com/~sonnygo/index.shtml would help with the 96th Godfrey's
but not much on the John Godfrey's. I hope to add them shortly.
Frank
