I wish to post a query and this is they first time on these pages. I am looking for my
GGgrandfather whose surname was HENDRIX we believe that his given names were Marion
and possible mil ton or Presley. He owned a grist mill and married an Indian Woman who
was stolen back by here tribe and he in turn had to steal her back and keep watch over
her, so the story goes. Mary?? may have been her name, Mary is all I know. This
Hendrix may have melungeon blood lines. Was said to be connected to Powhatan or
Pocahunta's' people. Came from NC to Alabama. His son my GGgrandfather William Andrew
Hendrix married Caroline (Carrie) Hill and is buried in Jefferson County Al. Carrie
and William were born in Ga (Habersham or Forsythe County. Any help that you can offer
would help make vital connection for my family tree.
Thank You, Rev.Dr. Robert L. Barnes
