The Historical Society at Charleston has an extensive file of the
Pendarvis with a detail story of Tory Dick - I believe Richard. If I
have it right, might not, Brand was father of Joseph and Richard. I'll
have to check my records. I got frustrated searching my Pendarvis line.
According to the records I read, the Pendarvis name was dropped after the
Revolution, because of the Tory implication.
