Samuel & Thomas Reader were early residents of Monroe, Benton Co., OR
and operated the mill on the Long Tom at that location.

Last night a friend & I were looking at the death certificates that Lee had
sent me for Samuel Reader & Martha Reader. We suspect that after Martha
Died (1911). Samuel must have returned to England & married a Mary (it has
been said that Samuel returned to England & took a 2nd wife). State archives
shows no marriage between 1911 & 1920 for Samuel so he must of married in
England. Samuels death certificate date Feb 26, 1920 lists him as being
married at time of death & lists his wife's name as Mary. Additionally, in
the Cemetary pages also sent to me, there is a Mary Reader bn 1851 & dd 1937
buried on the other side of Samuel Reader. I believe it is Samuel's 2nd
Wife. I hope to send for a copy of her death certificate soon.
