I am researching Charles Burton Wells b. 7/22/1841, d. 1903 Corvallis, =
OR. He was the son of Charles Andrew Wells and Elizabeth Hynes Cole. =
He married Esther Jane Garrett 10/22/1863. She was the daughter of =
Thomas H. Garrett and Phebe Hash, who married 4/5/1846 in Washington =
Co., Arkansas.

MO; BELL, M. H. 29, clerk, TN; Elizabeth C 24 KY; Haley 3 OR
Fagan, David: History of Benton County, Oregon
WELLS, Charles B.--this well known pioneer of Pleasant Valley is a
native of Platte county, Missouri, born 22 July 1841, and with his
parents came to Oregon in 1852, at that time locating on the place
where our subject now lives. Here, in 1865, his father, Charles
WELLS, died, at the age of 65 years, leaving a widow and 6 children,
the former having reached the advanced age of almost four score and
ten. Mrs. WELLS was born in Barron county, Kentucky, 27 April 1797,
and is a lady of more than average intelligence and possessed of a
remarkable memory.
