Rick and Listers--
I noticed your post about Rev. George ASHBY.
In my recent post about SMITH and FUDGE I did not include that John FUDGE
helped form the United Brethern Church in Columbia County Washington, at
Huntsville. That is near Touchet and Waitsburg. He formed a college with
J.B. HUNT.
On a hunch I looked up the Census for Columbia Co. looking for ASHBY and
found. I bet it is more than coincidence they were in Huntsville. The HAMMER
family were located there also. I am in contact with a man who is a HUNT
ancestor. We have quite a bit on the church now. Let me know if you want
more.
1880 ASHBY D. Columbia County WA 150 3rd District
1880 ASHBY JANE Columbia County WA 131 Twp 11 N Range 41 E
1880 ASHBY JENNIE Columbia County WA 150 3rd District
1880 ASHBY JOHN Columbia County WA 150 3rd District
1880 ASHBY MARY Columbia County WA 150 3rd
1880 ASHBY SOLOMON Columbia County WA 131 Twp 11 N Range 41 E
This is the census from Ancestry.com not microfiche, but it looks like it
would be an interesting search to see their ages etc. and where the land was
located.

Does anyone have a connection to or knowledge of Rev. George ASHBY? Rev.
George was active in several marriages between 1876 and 1892 in Marion
County
that included NOTTs as witnesses or participants. An 1892 marriage notes
George as Min. United Brethern Church.
