In looking through my notebooks of O'Rear information, I came across the
following obituary abstract that I had copied back in 1987. I thought
some of KY/MO O'Rear listmembers might be interested.
From:
"Genealogical Abstracts of Marriages and Deaths from the 'Nashville
Christian Advocate' 1846-1851" by Annie Sandifer Trickett
[Note: This is a Methodist Newspaper]
p. 68
from: Issue No. 3, Fri, Nov., 12 1847
JOHN OREAR died 28 Aug 1847, obstruction of urine at residence, about 2
miles from Mt. Sterling, 81 years, 10 months, 13 days; b. 12 Oct 1765 in
Virginia, son wrote father and mother JEREMIAH and SARAH OREAR were

[Note: I have a note here that this is probably #6 on Ed O'Rear's chart;
however, on the chart, the parents are listed as Jeremiah and Nancy--not
Sarah. Did Jeremiah have two wives?]
