I expect by now that almost everyone has received a message from
RootsWeb.com informing them of the up-coming change in list handling
software. For most subsribers the change will be transparent and you
will not notice much (if any) difference. I will be posting another
message os so as the change gets closer. In the meantime, one of the
biggest changes will be in regard to those persons that are
subscribed to more than one way of receiving list messages. Most
subscribers are signed up for either the regular maiL mode or the
Digest mode.

However, a few are signed up for both the maiL mode _and_ the Digest
mode with the same e-mail address. If this describes you, then you
will be affected by the change. IF you are subscribed to both modes
using the same e-mail address then the change will drop your Digest
subscription. If you wish to continue receiving BOTH the maiL mode
AND the Digest mode then you need to subscribe to the Digest mode
under a different e-mail address.

In most cases, this will be no problem since most users already have
more than one e-mail address anyway. If you do not have a second
e-mail address, there are a number of things you can do to acquire a
free second e-mail address. One is to check with your ISP to see if
you have used all the addresses you are allotted by them. You can
also get free e-mail addresses from gmail, juno and others. Some of
these last may include having some advertisements appended to each
message, but this may be the price you pay for a free address.

If you wish to make this change now, it would prevent you losing out
