Counties in Oregon kept the marriage records before 1906. Knowing the county is needed to search for a marriage before 1906. Counties had been keeping the marriage records even before Oregon became a state. Margaret

They're not in the marriage index for Oregon,
which starts out in 1906. Assuming their marriage WAS
in Oregon, only the church would have the record.
