Barney Ross, Terray Harmon and Jake Grossmiller all knew that the house
pictured above was the Edward C. Pease house, located on Fourth Street here
the parking lot for U.S. National bank is today (just west of dentist Doug
Reid's office).
Ross said his grandmaother Pearl Cheney worked for Mr. Pease in his Pease &
Moody department store in The Dalles (located where Craig Office Supply is
today) Ross also said his wife dusted the house in her youth because her
aunt, Osa Gillette, was cook and housekeeper.
The house had a ballroom on the third floor. It was torn down in 1963.
