I have an ancestor (Jincy Jane CASNER) who made her way to OR in 1852 arriving there in October. She took a DLC in December, 1852. I also have her and some of her children on the 1860 census in Linn County, OR. Then have come across a couple of newspaper clippings placing the family in Linn County (Brush Creek Precinct) as late as 1864 and 1865. Some of the other sons sign DLCs of other persons 1864-1865.
There is some indication that one of her sons (James Casner) may have killed another son (Henry Casner) in a fight circa 1865. After that I've been unable to locate anything on this family.
Then in late December, 1874 the clan gathers at the home of the married daughter in Grant County and have several photos made. Most of the family starts for Arizona in 1-1875 arriving in AZ in 4-1875.
My questions is this, how would I go about determining when Jincy Jane Casner sold her land in Linn County. Would these records be in the Linn County Courthouse? At the State Archives?
There is some indication, she may have traveled from OR to CA with one of her married sons into CA in 1873.
I have not located her or any of her children on the 1870 census other than one son who is in Cowlitz County, WA.
If anyone reading this has informaiton on this Casner/Carsner line, I would like to hear from you.
