I sepnt all evening attempting to find these people through Gen.com. No
luck.
Syphyna Lorinda Eakin ae 36 was left a widow in 1864 (husband John Henry
Eakin)
Children Otis C. ae 14; James Alonzo B- Sep 1857; so prob 12 on Census
Oliver B. B- Aug 1860 & Sarah L. B- 08 Dec 1862
On her pension it lists Smithton as her Postal Address. I especially need
to be able to access these 2 Census as proof that she never remarried,
which I know she didn't as she was not dropped from Pens. list until 1891
for Mar. Purposes.
There are some screwballs out there, that have her listed as remarrying
to her Bro-in-law (He never left PA. & had other wives, at this same time
frame) but they have never worked actuall records to prove their points.
I just could not find her last night. Worked until my eyes almost came
out of the sockets.
