The death of Charles occurred during the time period that Portland
required a City of Portland Death Certificate for any human dead body
being transported through the City of Portland no matter where the death
occurred. The Forum has microfilms of the "Chronological Death Index,
City of Portland". I also own a copy and checked it for Charles.
Charles Rosenau died 29 Sept 1904 at the age of 52 years 6 months 0 days
a the O. R. & N. dock of a skull fracture. He was born in Germany.
J.P. Finley was the Coronor and the Undertaker.
The "Index to Coroners Inquests" shows a Chas Rosenan (sic) on page 412,
Oct. 5, 1904. of the Cornoners Inquests. The coroners office is on NE
Knott Street across from Multnomah County Library's Title Wave Book
Store just west of MLK.
When you checked the Votor Registrations did you check the rolls of
Forein Born Votor Registrations. He would not be in the regular rolls
but would be in the Foreign Born. Those registrations give the court in
which the person was naturalized.
