Subject: [ORIGINAL-13] mid 1700's Cumberland Co. Families
Date: Wed, 12 Jul 2000 22:42:59 EDT

Hello: Seeking the names of those living in the area of Hopewell Twp and
surrounding Cumberland County mid 1700's. Our Ancestor, Hugh Brady (born
1709) and wife Hannah, and family were living there then. The Brady Family
Heritage Association is trying to locate descendants of those early residents
of Cumberland County for a gathering of reunions in Cumberland County.
The Bradys just had a reunion last week in Shippensburg (the first in over 23
years) and we had over 200 in attendance. Our next reunion, "Christmas at
the Homestead", a summer celebration of pioneer Christmas traditions, will be
held in 2-3 years. Hugh and Hannah would have invited their neighbors over
for the celebration. We are inviting all descendants of those early families
to join us in honoring your proud heritage and ours.
The Bradys would like descendants of other families of the same time period
to have their reunions at the same time. Timeline is: 2-3 years down the
road - date will be confirmed within 2 months from now.
Some of those families are:
Young, Hanna, Craig, Carnahan, Irvine, Ferguson, Herron, Quigley . . . .and ?
We are trying to find the names of heads of household or landowners before
the Revolution.
Come and join with us. Come home with your families. Let's have a weekend
together sharing the history and fellowship that bound them together so many
years ago. We will have Revolutionary War Re-enactors (the best group you
will ever see), a bagpiper, etc. Lots of genealogy, history, etc.
Whether or not your family has an organization, all are welcome. Please
contact me for further. Each family living in Cumberland County during that
time period should be represented. Help is needed in identifying the
families of that time period. If your ancestor lived in Cumberland County,
PA between 1730 and 1776, please contact us.
Don't be left out - here is a wonderful opportunity to journey back home.
Let us hear from you! Your ancestors are counting on you!
