Subject: [ORIGINAL-13] JOHN JARRETT and MARY LUKENS
Date: Sun, 11 Mar 2001 12:21:28 -0500

Hello Folks,
I had a chance to go to Swarthmore College yesterday and found a record
of John and Mary's marriage. For comparison, I've listed 2 other sources
I have. I've included the particular book and page number for you to use
if you want to order copies from Swarthmore.

RE: JOHN JARRETT:
m. "At our Mo Meeting ye 29 10mo 1712 ...Whereas John Gerret of
Germantown & Mary ye daughter of John Luckon, having declared their
intentions of Marriage with each other before two Mo= Meetings Enquiry
being made by persons appointed & found clear from all others on ye
account of marriage did accomplish their marriage in ye Unity of Friends
as is Signified by their Marriage Certificate." I could not locate a
Marriage Certificate at Swarthmore, nor a copy of one.
(Abington MM Book of Minutes 1718, page 75, Friends Historical Library,
Swarthmore, xerox copy)

m. 29th 10m 1712, Mary LUKENS at Abington MM
(Jan Lucken's Bible as per Krefiel Immigrants...Descendants...Luckens
Vol 1 #1 p3)
m. Mary LUKENS at Germantown Friends Meeting, Pennsylvania
("John Jarrett...was first heard of in Germantwon in the year 1710...Two
years later he married Mary Lukens, sixth child of Jan Lucken, at
Germantown Meeting." from The Settlement of Horsham Township by Charles
Harper Smith page 50)

Regards, Joan
