Klamath Falls, Oregon
Henry Shadley, Indian Policeman on the Klamath Indian Reservation, is
seriously ill at the Klamath Valley Hospital, from an infection in the hand
following an encounter with another Indian last week during a liquor raid.
Shadley struck the Indian and a cut on his hand resulted.

Henry Shadley, a resident of Klamath County for the past 36 years, passed
away at the Klamath Agency on Saturday, December 14. The deceased was a
native of Big Bend, California, and was aged 53 years and one day when
called.
He is survived by his wife, Flava, of Chiloquin; two sons, HenryJr.,
Carroll of Chiloquin; seven daughters, Christine Dawson and Virginia
Shadley, of Trail, Oregon; Florence Cole, Ruth, Jessie, Barbara and Alberta
Shadley, all of Chiloquin; his mother, Rosie Shadley of Sprague River; six
brothers, Lee of Chico, California; Amos and Fred of Bieber, California;
Albert, Ed and Walter of Sprague River; three sisters, Melvina Bagwell of
Klamath Falls; Pearl Coburn of Sprague River and Nettie Shough of Trail;
also 6 grandchildren.

The funeral service for the late Henry Shadley will take place from the
Methodist Church at Williamson River on Tuesday, December 17 at 1 p.m., the
Reverend B.V. Bradshaw officiating. Commitment service and vault entombment
will be in the Hill Cemetery.
