All,

Was told an interesting story recently by a distant relative in the US.
Apparently an elderly neighbour, who was Orcadian by birth but had been in
the US for some time, had the story that Jews settled in Orkney, and in
Sanday in particular. Their entry route was through Scandinavia, being
brought over by the Vikings. I don't know what era this was in, but has to be
before Orkney became Scottish. Must admit this was news to me, but can anyone
else shed some light on the subject.
