Hello,
Does anyone have any info on a David PETRIE & (wife?) Barbara ISBISTER,
connected with South Ronaldsay at least by the year 1821?
They had at least one son, James PETRIE, who died in 1863 on South
Ronaldsay.
In the South Ronaldsay 1821 Census, this James lived in St. Margaret's Hope,
Household #78, and he was married to Ann McDONALD.
I think the Barbara ISBISTER and the Peter PETRIE in the South Ronaldsay
1821 Census, at Household #35 in Farewell, could be perhaps the mother and
brother (?) of the James PETRIE in St. Margaret's Hope, but want to know if
any of you can indicate this for certain.
I cannot find any children of David PETRIE/Barbara ISBISTER on Walt's IGI
web site, nor on the GROS Old Parish Registers section for births/baptisms
in Scotland. (I thought maybe I'd find David and Barbara's marriage or
childrens' birth elsewhere in Scotland, but can't seem to.)
I guess my main reason for this email is to see if anyone can verify that
the Barbara Isbister and Peter Petrie in Household #35 in the 1821 Census
are wife (or widow?) and son of David Petrie....
Thanks,
Lisa
