Alex,

Thanks for the James Durran Cromarty information, he would have been my g g
grandfather, this is the only Cromarty family I have actually done a bit of
research on, while researching my Allan's, Betsy Stewart Allan and James
Durran Cromarty had seven children, as well as the six you have found there was
also a John Cromarty born 22nd Sept. 1876 John died 18th May 1877 of
Bronchitis.

My line is from his daughter Catherine Peebles Cromarty who married James
Peebles Rosie in Liverpool 1896 at some point they moved to Glasgow where my
granny Catherine Allan Peebles Rosie, was born in 1896
Catherine Peebles Cromarty died (complications after the birth of a son,
baby also died) 1898 in Glasgow and James Rosie died 1909, in Glasgow, Mary Jane
Cromarty came down to Glasgow to look after her niece until her education was
finished then they went back to live on Swona, at some point granny met and
married John Budge (granddad) from SouthRonaldsay they had seven children,
Catherine Rosie Budge one of their daughters, my mother, which leads me on to
my Budge line and Oman.

What is your connection to James Durran Cromarty and Betsy Stewart Allan ?

Kind Regards Cathy
