Hugh A. Blair


Hugh A. Blair, 87, died Oct. 23, 2007 at his home in Lincoln City. He was born to Elias and Nellie Blair on March 20, 1920 in Wolf Creek, Wis.

He was a veteran of World War II and served with the Army in Europe from Sept. 16, 1940 until being honorably discharged as a sergeant on Dec. 22, 1944.

He worked as a construction estimator, accountant, payroll and salesperson. He had a life-long passion for fishing and the outdoors. He enjoyed camping, crossword puzzles and was an avid card player.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Margaret; brothers, Vernon, James and Howard; and sons, Dennis and Anthony.

He is survived by his wife, Beverly Blair; sons, Mark of Lincoln City, Scott of Phoenix, Ariz.; daughters, Pam Albert of Vancouver, Wash., Dana Mason of Cook, Minn.; stepson William of Osceola, Wis.; grandsons, Joey Swan, Michael Blair, Tony Blair and Tony Mason; granddaughters, Jaime Saemann, Angie Comer and Jenna Blair; and 11 great-grandchildren.

A private memorial will be held at a later date at Willamette National Cemetery. A memorial fund is being established in lieu of flowers.
