O. P. Goodall of this city, who died at Corvallis, Oregon, January 9, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. W. E. Turner, where he and Mrs. Goodall had gone to spend the holidays, was born in Jefferson City, MO., Aug 1, 1828, being 86 years of age at the time of his death.
When less than 18 years of age Mr. Goodall ran away from home and joined General Price's army and was with that command through the Mexican war. His early life was spent on the frontier. He was at one time engaged in scout duty in Texas and New Mexico. He first came to Oregon in 1853 and after returning twice to the "The States," had lived most of the time since in this state.

About three years ago he purchased a home in Brownsville and has since made this city his home. During a considerable portion of his life, Mr. Goodall was prominently indentified with Grange work and Farmers' Alliance. He was a member of the First Presbyterian church of Brownsville, and was a man who was held in high esteem by this neighbors and many friends. Shortly after going to Corvallis Mr. Goodall was taken ill with lagrippe. The disease soon developed a serious nature and within a few days he passed away. The funeral and interment took place at Corvallis on Monday, January 11.
Deceased is survived by his widow, Mrs. Grace A. Goodall, and by four daughters and six sons. The bereaved children are: Mrs. John Brown of Spokane, Wash.; Mrs. W. E.
