Timothy Davenport, son of Benjamin, wrote a recollection of their Oregon Trail trek. a copy is at
the U of OR Library, Special Collections (mss Ax242.) For a reasonable charge (I forget exactly how
much right now) you can obtain a photocopy for your own study from

The following is from my INDEX OF 1851 O.T. JOURNALS/RECOLLECTIONS, in which I have indexed this
document. There are other references to him in fellow travelers' journals, also.
TIMOTHY WOODBRIDGE DAVENPORT

This Recollection is a manuscript in the University of OR library and is forty-eight legal size
pages long. The segment herein treated begins with the departure for Oregon on the 17th sheet. The
manuscript ends abruptly at the Umatilla River. It is # 1055 in Mattes PRRN and is filled with
interesting anecdotes of interpersonal relationships among the fellow travelers across the
continent. The O.T. trek begins on page 13.
