not on I-84. It is quite a distance from there. It is on the road
from La Grande to Union.

I sent her the photo of the place. On the photo (like a RPPC)

"On the main line of the O.R. & N. Co., 114 miles east of Portland.
Special round trip excursion tickets from all O. R. & N. points.
The largest, hottest and most curative spring known, best bathing
facilities, most courteous attendants, first class medical and
surgical conveniences; finest operating room in the west; steam heat,
electric lights, hot and cold water throughout the building. For
further information write the Hot Lake Sanatorium Co., Hot Lake Ore.
Dr. W. T. Phy, Medical Superintendent and Manager.
Form 9-22--4-6-09--5m (this card was printed in 1909 by Ryder Bros
of Baker City, Oregon.)"

O. R. & N. Co. (Oregon Railway and Navigation Company) is now part
of Union Pacific.

I still remember the most vivid part of the place, the steam rising
from Hot Lake, quite visible from the distance of I-84 in winters.
