Hi I am new to your list. I noticed via the Internet that there were some early settlers in Summerville, Oregon by the name of Myers.

I am looking for information on a William Myers born N.Y. around 1830.

All I know for sure is that he married Cornelia Richardson in
La Grande, Oregon on November 19, 1866.

After a few years, they moved to Atlanta, Idaho. Four children were born to them: Edward, Mary, Ernest and Marion.

William joined up with Orlando "Rube" Robbins, Chief of Scouts at Ft. Boise, Idaho on June 3, 1878 during the Bannock War. On June 28, 1878 he was scalped and killed by the hostile Indians at the Battle of Silver Creek, in Harney County, Oregon.

I am trying to find out if he was part of the Myers Family that settled in Summerville, Oregon in the mid 1800's. Would anyone possibly have a list or manuscript that might possibly tell who all was traveling out West with the Myers party at that time?

I also have been unable to locate a Historical Society in Union County....would anyone know of one?

Thank you for your time.......Sincerely, Kathleen
