Gwendolyn Woods, 82, died at her home in Murdock (Washington) on Saturday, June 29 at the age of 82. She was born in Morrisburg, Ontario, Canada on April 1, 1920 to Frederick and Evelyn (Crobar) Cassel.
Her father died six months before she was born, and very soon after her birth, her mother became ill, so she moved to Missouri where she was raised by her grandparents.

The couple later moved to Corvallis (Oregon) in 1947, then to Warrenton (Oregon), and settled in Bingen (Washington) in the early 1950s.
She worked at Underwood Grocery (Underwood, Washington) and for Underwood Fruit. She and her husband opened second-hand stores in Bingen, White Salmon (Washington), Carson (Washington) and Stevenson (Washington) during the 1960s. She was a 29-year member of the Eagles. She loved cats and her grandkids, whom she called "sugar".
She took care of everybody and had the best fried chicken in the world. She was active until the end.
Surviving Mrs. Woods are her husband, Bob, of Murdock; son Keith F. Woods of Murdock; daughter Sandra Lofthus of Stevenson; sisters Eileen Thompson and Mary McCaffery, both of Saskatchewan, Canada; brothers Earl Declare of Saskatchewan and Charles Shirk of White Salmon; four grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 5 at 2 p.m. at Gardner Chapel in White Salmon with interment at the White Salmon Cemetery.
