Alan,
So we meet again. I grew up in Iowa and their were Rippentrops in my
hometown as well as in neighboring towns. (Buffalo Center, Winnebago Co.
and Titonka, Kossuth, Co.)
The obit index lists some of them:
Rippentrop, Hinderketje b. Willmsen 1 Mar 1893 @ Ramsay, IA no b.
place
Rippentrop, Ida b. Meier 10 Mar 1914 @ Germania, IA (that is now
Lakota, IA)
Rippentrop, Johann 1 Aug 1914 @ Kings, IL b. Suurhusen,Ost
Stock, Frauke b. Rippentrop 10 Sep 1911 @ Ackley, IA b. Suurhusen,
Ost

There were also Rippentrops in SD and Wilken Co., MN that I know were
connected to those in IA. Good Luck on your quest.
