Moin Marcia,

after the terrible storm flood of Christmas 1717 the prince of
Ostfriesland established a census in 1719 in order to get info about the
pecuniar sufficience of the inhabitants of his realm. -There was nearly
none-.

This was called 'Schatzung' and would mean a valuation. So
Schatzungsregister would be an index of valuation (of the peoples
sufficience).

Halbplaatseigner

A Plaats or Platz was a farm site inherited thru generations. The owner
of such a farm is a 'Plaatseigner', commonly called 'Hausmann'.

Sometimes a (large) heritage was devided into two halfs, so every heir
was owner of a half site - Halbplaatseigner (where Eigner is owner).
