Hello,

I have been researching my Ostfresian roots for a number of
years. Many thanks to Robert Meints for providing most of
the information I have. Here are my relatives:

Rickels Clausen Reikelfs, Oct 7, 1824, Nordon, Ostfr. Came
USA 1850; settled around Pekin, IL. married Tina Frierich
Meints on Dec 12, 1850. Moved to Buena Vista County
around 1860.

R. C. Reikelfs' obit saids he was survived by a sister. We
don't know who she was.

Meints-

Frerich Ewen, 13 June 1799, Osteel, Ostfreis-12 Apr 1839,
Osteel.
Married Icke Weets, 1800, Osteel-1848 Cairo, IL. She
remarried and came to USA in 1848. After her death the
family moved to around Golden IL. Children born in Osteel:

Gretje Frerichs, b. 4 Jun 1823 (stayed in Germany?)
Trientje Frerichs, b. 27 June 1827 (stayed in Germany)

Rest of the children came:
Frerichs, b. 10 Jan 1829
Tina (Reikelfs)
Bernetje Weets (married to Cobus H. Frenzen)
Hinke (married to Rev. Heinrich Koopman. He was involved in
some church
disputes and then just disappeared)

Thanks

Ted Fetkenheuer
