Thank you for signing my guest book!
Yes, we do celebrate Himmelfahrt (ascension day) in our congregation, but in more banausic oriented minds this day has changed to "Father's Day".

However, not fathers but bachelors were celebrating this day, having a trip around with much beer and liqour. Men's day, actually.

The last years we saw more families and neighbor groups riding bicycles and exploring their vicinity. Thus, nowadays Himmelfahrt changes to Family Day in our secularized world of today. That's surely better than the tours of drunken bachelors!

I will also post this to the Ostfriesen lists, I think, this is of common interest.
