Here's the information I have on Heinrich (AKA Henry) OLTMANNS, in case it helps. Three of his sons married three WOLTZEN sisters, daughters of my ancestors, Albert J. and Bernhardina Alberts SAATHOFF WOLTZEN.

We Will Go to a New Land by R. Behrens has a biographical sketch of Henry. It says Henry emigrated to Pekin, Tazewell Co, IL in 1854. He then moved to a farm seven miles north of Peoria, Peoria Co, IL, then to a farm at Larose, IL and finally to a farm near Benson, Woodford Co, IL. He and his wife, Gesche, retired in El Paso, Woodford Co, IL. Both are buried in St Peter Lutheran Church Cemetery two miles west of Benson. (page 175)

>From the book Past and Present of Woodford Co, IL (Chicago: Wm Le Baron, Jr and Co 1878):

"Oltmans, Henry- Farmer P. O. Benson. Republican, Lutheran has 245 acres of land on Sec 10, valued at $60 per acre. He was born in Osh-Friezland, Azes Co, Germany Aug 19, 1832 and came to this country in 1854 and settled in Tazewell Co and remained eight years, went to Marshall Co and remained seven years and in 1869 came to this place (Greene Twp). He married Gasch Miles June 13, 1857 in Pekin, IL. She was born Dec 15, 1835 in Osh-Friezland, Azes Co, Germany. They have had ten children, lost four--Halley, Henry, Remmer, Lizzie, Bettie and Jabo. Mr. O. was in debt when he landed in this country but he went to work with a will, paid his indebtness, and today we find him with on the the fine homes and farms so common in this State. His children are growing up to be industrious and temperate, with a desire for books and knowledge."
