I couldn't have said it better!!
By the way, I know Ruth. She is good, thorough and rolls over all the
rocks to see what's under them.
For those who have research in northwestern Winnebago county or eastern
Kossuth county Iowa, Buffalo Center has the largest population and
newspaper with a large circulation. Many people of Buffalo Center
(Winnebago Co.), Lakota (called Germania before WWI) and Titonka (both
Kossuth Co.) share common lines and family links.

Keep in mind that all historical and genealogical societies do not share
the same focus. That's what went wrong with the request to the historical
society. Their emphasis is architecture and formation of the early
settlement and preservation of historical sites. The Lime Creek Genealogy
Society for Winnebago Co are the folks you need to contact.
