Excerpt from:
HENRY STARR Last of the Real Badmen by Glenn Shirley.
Page 26/27, "The 'catchpole' and Starr's new companion was a man named Creekmore. 'His parents had christened him Milo' according to Starr, 'and for months he was a deputy marshal of the court, and I believe, considered a good one. But his duties brought him into the reservations and soon the spirit that was over all had taken hold of him and he came to me as natural as a stream of water will settle to its level."

Page 39, "Of Creekmore, I will say that he was brave and generous and possessed no little amount of intelligence. But he was foolish in combining two callings which were in direct conflict. He said he could not make any money riding marshal and besides he wanted to be a bandit, something on the order of Jesse James, but I had suspected that he meant to turn me in, and moved on without him."

Page 78: "The Tahlequah CHEROKEE ADVOCATE, of October 28, added this item: "Milo Creekmore was married to Miss Cora Runyon last Sunday at the residence of his mother in Fort Smith. After the ceremony and dinner served, he was taken back to jail and the hopeful bride left to await the conclusion of the whole matter." ... The traitor Creekmore turned state's evidence and went free. If ever a per devil was a fall guy, it was I. Again I was not sentenced, the why spend time and expense convicting me on these highway cases?"
