98 501 9 Dec 1669 This Indenture made ye 9th day of December 1669 sheweth that whereas Capt. Tho: Brereton Attor: of Mr. Wm Wathen did this day bring before me Nich Owen, Gent., one of his Maties [Majestys] Justices of ye peace for ye County of Northumberland in ye Colony of Virga one Elizabeth Robbins, an orphant, left when very young to ye tutele [tutelage] and oversight of ye sd Mr Wm Wathen & his predecessors, I doe hereby order ye sd Eliz: to serve ye sd Mr Wm Wathen & his assignes for ye full terme of seaven yeares in such work & imploymt as becometh a household Servt, not to work in ye gournd, beat ay ye mortar or ye like, the sd Wathen or his assignes to provide for ye sd Eliz: during the sd terme sufficient dyett, cloaths & lodging & at the expiration thereof to cloath her decently, Witness my hand.
