Judy: A list must be set up that way. There is a reason why the pa-census-lookup list is not set up in that manner.......sometimes people like to be able to email a particular submitter privately - perhaps to continue an off-topic discussion or to delve into a family that interest them both. If I change the setup, then that feature would no longer be possible. For example, this email you sent to me would instead go to the entire list unless you sent it to pa-census-lookup-admin....(that's me).
To send a response back to both the submitter AND the list, simply click on the REPLY ALL button that is next to your REPLY button (Microsoft Outlook/Outlook Express). Since you are on AOL and I am not familiar with AOL, the button or tool may be named slightly differently. But it certainly should be just as easy. Since this is a "good" question, I hope you don't mind if I also send it to the list in case any one else is wondering.....

Gail,

I have a question for you about the list.

On some lists I am on when a request comes in for a lookup if I hit the "reply" button on my mail the mail is automatically addressed back to the list. With the PA list it goes to the person. Not a big deal but I like to write the response back to the list rather than the person so others that may be doing the lookup would already know it was done.
So my question is: Can this list be set that way if there is not some reason that you don't have it that way in the first place?
