I have a puzzle on my hands. I am trying to find the daughter of George Lees
(Mary Lees) who was born in England and on the 1881 British Census she was 7
years old and living with father,George and mother, Ann and brother George H.
In 1900 I have Mary, (26) single, living on E. Market Street, 2 Ward
Scranton, with her father and mother and brother George and another
brother,Robert,
age18. That census states she was born October 1873.
In 1910 Mary was living with her father and mother in Luzerne County,
Nanticoke. She was still single and age 36..
In 1930 Mary was age 50 and living with her husband, Sydney Cooper, in
Luzerne County, Nanticoke. I was wondering if someone could find her in
1920. On
the 1930 census it looks like her first marriage was at age 37 -- I can't
read
census very well. I can't find Mary Lees or Mary Cooper anywhere in PA in
1920.
Also, can someone tell me what the 1 means after M pertaining to marriage.
Does that mean first marriage.
thanks so much for any help you can give me.
Barbara
