I have an ancestor who was farming in Virginia and inscripted by the
Confederacy, but later switched to a PA company with the Union that his
brother was fighting with. When I search Civil War databases, should I look
for him with the Confederacy or the Union or both? Is there a site that
might list deserters from the Confederacy? Thanks. Diane
