Enlisted 9/10/1861 as 1st Sergeant
On 9/10/1861 he mustered into "B" Co PA 98th Infantry
He was discharged for disability on 4/16/1862

Enlissted 9/19/1861 as a Privare
On 9/19/1861 he mustered into "K" Co PA 98th Infantry
He was discgarge for disaabilitity on 4/16/1862

. He was in the 98th Penn Vol. Co B and K is there a listing of the 98th
Penn on line . He was given a medical discharge 21 Jun 1862 but was carried
on this muster listing until 1865 . He was also listed on some as
Birkenstock and others Bergenstock . I wonder if these are the same people ?
