Ann
Here is a link to the Brown Society that is doing the dna study. Actually
most of their participants are from England, Ireland and Scotland
originally. Getting tested can help your brother sort out which Browns he
is related to and perhaps get genealogy info form them.

.

Another link is: .

Hope these work for your brother. My brother's results are there. I
recommend doing the 37 marker ydna test, otherwise you may get too many
matches, but find they are very distantly related. With 37 markers
hopefully you would get some closer relatives. My brother did 25 markers
and matches 350 Irishmen (who don't have our surname). The test is simple.
They send a kit in the mail, he swabs the inside of his cheeks, puts the
swab in a vial and mails it back to the lab.

Good luck.

Joan

Joan,

My brother in law is searching that branch and he says they came from
England. Personally I wouldn't be supprised if they didn't start in
Germany. Haven't given it a thought but maybe that would be a good Idea. Do
you have any info on that subject for the Brown's?
Ann
