I originally posted this in Sept. but had been off due to some
medical problems.
The earliest HALL ancestor of mine that I can verify is William
Hall born maybe around 1708 and I believe in Chester/Delaware Co.
PA. He married Hannah Richardson born around 1712 and I believe in
Chester/Delaware Co. PA. They were married in St. Paul's Episcopal
Church in Chester Co. on 23 April 1731. Their first son, Thomas was
born abt. 1732 in what is now Halltown, Jefferson Co. WV. William
died their 10 Nov 1764 in Halltown, Jefferson Co. WV. Hannah died their
later.
I believe, but can't prove, that William is related to the Thomas Hall
in Chester Co PA who came from Hilmorten, Wiltshsire Co. England.
He came around 1683/85 and lived in Concord Twp.. This gets dicey
at this point because a Thomas Hall obtained land from William Penn
to get to Chester Co. PA. Some have shown this Thomas to have been
born in 1672 which would have made him 10 to 12 years old. Others
have shown a Thomas Hall born abt. 1649 in England that came to
Chester Co.. So I suspect the Thomas born 1672 was a son. A Thomas
Hall died in 1704 and left a will and names children but no William but
does show a Thomas. I don't know which Thomas this would have been
that left the will. If anyone can provide any help to clear this up, I would
forever be grateful.
I would also like to know who Hannah's parents were?? I think her
father might have been John Richardson. He died in Frederick/Berkeley/
Jefferson Co. VA/WV. Hannah had a brother Richard because he is
named in William's will. Any information on this would be well
appreciated.
Many, many thanks.
