Marie, EVERYONE receives the offer when they join the list....I have the
list set up to electronically send it to every new member....so, if you
joined, which you did, then you got it....I believe that you, and others,
simply delete it without bothering to see what it says, in the mistaken
thought that it is just another of those instructions "thingies" that come
whenever you join a rootsweb list......I think the lesson here is that it
pays to read things! (I'm notoriously bad about this myself and wonder what
all I'VE missed, because I "assumed" something!)
Another thing (and this is just a general comment, something that's come
up a couple times in the last few days)....... when asking me about
something I've posted , please include whatever it is you want me to comment
on in you email...oft I get emails that say "what do you think about so and
so's will...what does so and so mean."...please understand that almost NONE
of the wills I post concern my own family....I simply look things up for
people, post them, and go on to the next...so, please don't expect me to
remember ANYTHING I've posted; there's just too much. ALWAYS include
whatever it is you're asking about.
Another hint.....instead of just listing people, one after another ,
you need to say who is married to whom, who is the child of whom,
etc,,,,,,,makes it much easier for those of us doing the lookups...! Just
placed in a list it is impossible to tell who is wife, child, father, etc,
and these make a big difference when doing lookups. If you'd let me know
who who is related to who, I'll continue....for instance, which child of
John Davis are you descended from? Is it the Daniel on your list? If not,
there's no sense in my typing in a bunch of stuff about someone not in your
line....see what I mean?

Sandra
For now, I'll start with the earliest, for I have little info on folks
who are later ;

John Davis, or David, of Uwchlan, bought 100 acres in Chester in 1715, and
is said to have come from Radnorshire. He died in 1736, leaving a widow

ca 1784, probably unmarried' Hannah m 1743 to David Cadwalader; Mary m. 1749

Worrall; Sibbilla b. 1726 m. 1746 Edward Williams and 1754 Wm. Kirk; Amos

" I don't think I received this, but I joined while you were out of town. I
apologize to you if I missed it, the older I get the more likely this
becomes."

prob. 1846/7 Chester Co I have no information on these 2 after they left VT
except the 1840 and 1842 census in PA. According to bio on son-in-law Edward
Mauer Norton, he saved $8000.00 by 1847, working as a laborer in steel mills
in western PA. It's my belief that this was partly an inheritance from J.H.
Kneeland.
