If you mean, by "group of followers", the first Quakers to arrive and
populate Chester county, then "no"...no one of that name. The original
Quaker emigrants were all British, to my knowledge. However, if you
include some dates for this surname, I could perhaps find them....please
include given names, too.
The surname you search for is German, and this group came to PA a bit
later, and were usually not members of the Quaker faith, and were German
Reformed, & Lutherans.
I also find another spelling, Jacob Uptegrave, on the taxable list of
1753 Coventry Twp, but without dates and given names I don't know who you're
actually searching for.....so, send those and I'll gladly search the wills
and other records for your family.
